Provides a 3-day supply of pre-bagged groceries, plus a $10 food voucher (as needed) for perishable food, redeemable only at Dave’s Market, in Ada.

 

Eligibility:

Residents who reside within Ada, Liberty Township, or McGuffey, or are referred by an area pastor (one-time only assistance for residents outside these areas).

 

Procedure to Obtain Services:

Proof of residency required upon initial visit. (No proof of need required.)  Household may be served up to 12 times per year, preferably no more than once a month.  Recipients should arrive during business hours at door marked: Ada Food Pantry.  Emergency assistance available through Reverend.

 

Cost of Services:

            No Cost.

            Downstairs; no elevator or ramp at this time.

Vocational Rehabilitation: May include diagnosis, evaluation, counseling, physical restoration, training tools and other equipment, and placement services.

Rehabilitation Teaching: Services to teach visually impaired individuals to complete homemaker duties or daily personal activities available through Toledo BSVI office at 1-800-589-5811.

Business Enterprises: Establishes and supervises small businesses operated by the visually impaired.

            1. Having physical or mental impairment which constitutes or results in a 

               substantial impediment to employment.

            2. Who may benefit from VR services in terms of an employment outcome.

            3. Requiring VR services to prepare for, enter, engage in or retain gainful                              employment.

We are a rural community attempting to serve the entire upper Scioto School District – including the villages of Alger, McGuffey and Roundhead with our commodities distribution.  We serve only the residents of that area, as we must account for the governmental commodities in our given area.  We offer food items only.  We try to give a Christmas basket each year with extra items to help a family enjoy the holidays.  These baskets go to all recipients of governmental commodities in our district.

3.    Must have verifiable income or proven need.

Following a request for help, the request is analyzed and information verified. Arrangements are then made for referral to the most appropriate source of help.

Love INC is not an agency - it offers no direct services. The Love INC office does not have any funds. It functions as a clearinghouse, where information is processed and help is then recruited from external sources.

            Any youth 12 - 17 years of age, considered a runaway, throwaway, or who             is homeless.

Intake assessment is completed at Safe Harbor; youth is then admitted to program. Required to contact legal guardian within 24 hours. Walk-ins, referrals by Children’s Services, Juvenile Courts, Police Department, Schools, and etc. are accepted.
