Procedure to Obtain Services: Contact physician first, if child seems to have a special need. Physician can write a prescription to have child tested, or call Children’s Developmental Center.
Cost of Services: Developmental classes, horseback riding and transportation provided at no cost to every family. Therapy is provided by Lima Memorial Hospital and will be billed separately. The center can provide some financial assistance. Transportation for developmental classes, therapy, horseback riding provided for those in Lima area. Mileage reimbursement for those residing out of the Lima area.

Services: WIC provides nutrition counseling and education, supplemental foods and referrals to other service agencies to participants. Supplemental foods are distributed by method of coupon vouchers participants redeem at local stores. These foods are given free of charge after initial appointment in which a nutritional assessment is conducted. We serve pregnant, breast feeding, and post-partum women, infants, and children up to five years of age.
Eligibility: Residents of Hardin County, pregnant, breast feeding, post-partum women, infant, or child under the age of five, below income guidelines set at 185% of poverty level; found to be at medical or nutritional risk as determined by health professional after assessment.

Services: Help Me Grow is a program for Ohio’s expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers that provides health and developmental services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn. Services are designed with the family’s concerns and goals in mind.
The mission of Help Me Grow is to: · Carry out a county wide, comprehensive, coordinated, multi-disciplinary, interagency system for Hardin County infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities or at risk of developmental delays or disabilities and their families. · Assure that services to families are based on needs and goals determined by parent/provider partnerships · Coordinate existing systems for identification, referral, follow-up and transition of children from birth to three years, with or at risk for disabling conditions. The Help Me Grow program focuses on outreach and child find activities, prenatal visits, newborn home visits, ongoing home visitation, service coordination, IFSP development, family support services, and evaluation to determine eligibility for Early Intervention Specialized Services.

Services: Child care resource and referral agency. We provide child-care and provider services in Hardin, Hancock, Wyandot, Van Wert, Mercer, Auglaize, Allen, and Putnam counties. YW Child Care Connections is a service provided to families of all income levels. We help families find child care. There is no cost to be registered with us or to use our service. · For Parents: we provide information on how to choose a child care provider, assist parents in locating child care, refer parents to other needed agencies, and inform parents about child care tax credits. · For Child Care Providers: we provide a registry with names of providers meeting state requirements, training in child development and other related topics, assistance for program start up and expansion, educational brochures, newsletter, and access to our lending library.
