- In the year 2000 people 65 and over represented 12.5% of the population, but are expected to grow to 20% of the population by the year 2030.
- $1.00 a week will provide six weeks of home delivered meals for a homebound senior citizen.
- Within the last year., 7% of American women (3.9million) who are married or living with someone as a couple were physically abused, and 37% (20.7 Million) were verbally or emotionally abused by their spouse or partner.
- $1.00 a week will provide shelter and emotional support for three battered women and their children.
- National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reports that on average, a
U.S.
fire department responded t a fire every 17 seconds.
$1.00 a week will provide one set of clothing for a child whose family has lost their home due to fire.
